Microsoft USB/DVD Download Tool will create a copy of your Windows 7, Vista or XP ISO file on a USB flash drive or a DVD. When you purchase Windows 7 from Microsoft Store, you have the option to download an ISO file or compressed files. It is faster the Universal USB Installer, UNetbootin or the download tool for Windows 7, on the making of a Windows 7 USB installation drive with the help of ISO. It can also be quick than an instance where someone uses ISOs to create Linux bootable USB. The Windows USB/DVD Download tool allows you to create a copy of your Windows 7/8 ISO file on a USB flash drive or a DVD. To create a bootable DVD or USB flash drive, download the ISO file and then run the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool.

Problems, errors and solutions
- Bootsect error – This error may occur if you are creating 64 bit bootable Drive from a 32 bit Windows 7 OS.
Solution:Download Bootsect.exe follow the detailed instruction here.
- “We are unable to copy your files. Please check your USB device and the selected ISO file and try again” error.
Usb Iso Boot
Solution:I found this quite unusual because I was able to complete the ISO burning process using DVD. However, when I tried to create bootable ISO in USB device, it cannot complete the process. This might be because I am still using USB 2.0 port and Flash drive or my Pen drive is just old enough.
If anyone of you tried USB 3.0 Flash drive on USB 3.0 port and successfully created a bootable USB drive, please drop a comment below. It will be highly appreciated. Sorry if I did not try USB 3.0 Flash drive, I don’t have the resources to do it as of the moment. Honestly, I am tempted to buy one. However, I don’t feel the need to do so, with ten (10) 2.0 Flash drives in my hand, I will just make use of it.

I'm helping a fellow I met on the forums with his build, and I'm running into a snag. He has limited knowledge of computers, and due to the fact that obviously we are in different geographical locations the support I can offer is limited. He has a Windows7 iso file downloaded from MS Academic Alliance, the problem he has no other computers in the house that have anything but Windows XP 32 bit. Every time he uses the Windows7 USB/DVD download tool it lets him go thru the process, but at the end it gives an error message bout a missing bootsect file. The USB created on Windows XP will not install the OS on the new computer (which did successfully POST to his credit). I've googled around trying to find a simple solution to this problem, and I'm coming up empty
Yes, I know there are ways to drop a bootsect file into the system file.. but what I'm looking for is a no complicated BS solution, such as a iso creation tool thats free that will not have this same problem as the Windows 7 Download tool..
BTW, its an outrage that microsoft would make something so complicated.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
